Exam time!

Wishing you all the best as you take your exams. A few reminders (because we can't help it...)
  • Make sure you get enough sleep
  • Take short study breaks to help you refocus
  • Eat healthy foods like nuts and apples. Stay away from the energy drinks!
  • Motivate yourself. Every day. Write your motivation on a post-it where you can see it.
  • Don't get overwhelmed. Even the biggest task can be broken down into smaller ones.
  • If things get a bit loud and busy at your house, come study at the library. We have quiet study rooms.
The ideas above were paraphrased from this wonderful blog post. Read it if you have a minute. She has many good suggestions.

Another new database!

Check out Science in Context.

Science in Context is an online resource providing contextual information on hundreds of today's most significant science topics--showing how scientific disciplines relate to real-world issues, from weather patterns to obesity.

The format is similar to Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Search or browse for a topic.

Browsing the topic: Earthquakes, for example, gives an overview of what an earthquake is, as well as news articles about the April 28, 2015 earthquake in Nepal. Need statistics? There is also a list of the 10 deadliest earthquakes, 856-2004. In addition, there are articles from academic journals, Websites, audio files, videos, and more.

This is a great resource that pulls together many kinds of information on a topic.

You can search, or browse for a topic. You'll get an overview, a list of different types of information (news, videos, academic journal articles, magazine articles, etc.) about the topic. You also get a list of related topics. And each topic has viewpoint essays, which present different points-of-view on various aspects of a topic.
